MAKE A LIST
We all have those days when everything seems to come crashing down on us at one time. There’s that moment of panic when our brains hit overload and the only thing we can think is….this is impossible. When this happens, we have to remember two things:
- What’s nearly impossible is being able to make our best decisions or be productive when we’re in total panic mode. So, the first thing we have to do is take a deep breath and then take a minute to regroup.
- Most of the time, we can only do one task at a time. So instead of obsessing over the impossibility of getting everything done…we have to prioritize.
There are tons of strategies and tips online for prioritizing and making lists. Some people like to make their lists with traditional pen and paper, and others use apps on their phones or computers. The most important thing is to start with the most critical tasks, and try to schedule those during the time of day when you are most focused and productive.
We’ve included a couple of short videos that give suggestions for effective prioritizing and lists below.
